For the 24th year running, this annual pre-season motorsport event will be held again at the NEC Birmingham from the 09th to 12th January, 2014. Covering over 1 million ft² Autosport International is widely regarded as Europe’s largest trade-only motorsport exhibition. The show uniquely caters for industry professionals and motorsport fans alike, incorporating two Trade-only days (9th & 10th) to allow visitors and exhibitors to meet in a business to business environment and two busy and more relaxed Public days (11th & 12th) dedicated to motorsport enthusiasts. Featuring every level of motor racing - from Karting up to Formula One - and with exhibitors ranging from specialist engineering companies to major manufacturers and everything in between. Autosport International truly brings together the world of motorsport under one roof.

Run jointly at the same time is the Performance Car Show featuring a stunning array of exotic supercars, rare and historic models and displays from top-end manufacturers. Manufacturers on show are Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren and Lamborghini to name a few. The Performance Car Show in association with Autocar and PH.com is the leading UK exhibition dedicated to enthusiasts of sports and performance cars. At the show you'll be able to meet other like-minded enthusiasts and get advice from the experts. Plus, we've got everything you need for your dream machine - from tyres and exhausts to in-car accessories. The show takes place alongside the world's biggest motorsport show - Autosport International - and is the perfect place to see the very best high-performance machines in their full glory.

For the second year running the GTROC will be attending Autosport International, though this time we'll be there for the entire four days and not just the public days on the Saturday and Sunday! This year we've been allocated a much better position at the show, though the overall place is smaller than last time. So instead of nine cars on display representing, we have five cars that have all been pre-selected and of course we will be paying homage to the 25th anniversary of the Nissan R32 Skyline - the original Godzilla!

After all the club is about more than just the R35

We're still working some details, awaiting some information, sorting stuff out, but if your going to Autosport this January then please make sure you come over and say hello. Its your chance to meet other members as well as those responsible for the day to day running of the club too :thumbsup:

Details of the cars on the stand will be finalised this week and we'll start a list as well of those of you coming along, so when you come and see us we know who you are! We'll be running some promotions and Knight Racer will have some deals for R35 owners too!

People will have to come and see us to find out so we don't give too much away at this stage, but all will be revealed in photos I'd imagine during the event on social media
We will have some special Skylines and GTR's though to represent the club as a whole.

This was a fantastic show last year and I hope many GTROC members make the trip to Birmingham. There was so much to see, including well known personalities which all added to the occasion.

Some of my friends used the train and that's what we'll do this year - might even have an overnight stop but I guess hotels will be fully booked by now.

Mmmm, is that the hotel where we met the Irish rally chaps having a good time. One guy was after a gearbox for his Escort but bought a trailer.

From memory the bar was well open after midnight.

Might check to see if there's a room left.

Jake Hill to drive Formula One car in the Live Arena

Just to update all who have been following Jake Hill in the BTCC Touring Cars, he will be driving a 1973 Lotus 72 Formula One car at the Live Arena during the four days at the Autosport show.

Jake will also be spending some time on the GTROC stand so come along and have a chat.

If anybody needs a room for Fri and Sat one of the guys on MLR can't make it now and has a family room available on these nights at the airport Travelodge. He is open to offers on the rooms but unless you are a MLR member you will not be able to see the advert, however if you would like the rooms get in touch with me and I can then PM him.

Is it better to go at the weekend on the public days? Is there more going on at the weekend.

Even though I'm linked to the trade I'm really going to this show as an enthusiast and want to go on the best day for such.

I think you'll find that answer will different depending who you ask that to to be honest. Its a case of different folks, different strokes and all that! I find trade days easier for walking around as people don't just stop right in front of you for no reason, lol! However I like both trade and public days!

The trade days are fantastic for the drivers and teams to conclude deals and invite potential sponsors etc, but the public days are geared more for fun and meeting the drivers and having the live interviews on the Autosport Stage.

I am there all four days with the GTROC and as a 'Supporter' of some of the drivers. Therefore the answer is BOTH
