I've got a 33 GTR, nice condition, needs a cpl of bits done to her, but other than spending £300 on a new coil pack, a new handbreak gator & a CV joint cover, nothing, she's a babe.

I'm over in Spain, after travelling through UK, France & Spain... Shall I return to the UK to sell her or try to sell her over here?

I need the cash & can't afford the import tax to keep her here....

You're thoughts please.

Personally, I don't mind driving a right hand here, it's pretty cool, would love to keep her, but it's gonna cost nearly a G to keep her here by the time I pay import duty on the 10% of car value...

saying this, it's going to cost me a G to get her back by the time I pay petrol, tolls & the tunnel.

I suppose I'm a stump wondering whether there's Spanish people on this forum or if there are guaranteed buyers on this site.

BTW, a shout out to competitionclutches, after they sold my clutch that managed my car & caravan up the mountains of France & Spain, the pyrenees. Thanks guys!

Personally feel it would make for a brilliant road trip for any potential buyer.

I suppose it all comes down to a price, if the figures work and the car is described accurately, you may find a UK buyer.

Get a good advert up, and be honest, with good pics.

Interested to see original post, as you could have a great valid point to make!
My original post was that there should be no import duty or VAT due as long as the car was tax paid in another member state of the EU (UK). Then I remembered that for Spain there is a registration tax on the value of imported used cars of varying percentages based on emissions. I assumed this was the import tax you were referring to.

ahhh yes buddy, it is.

Yeah, the guy down the road suggested we under estimate the amount of worth, maybe say 6k as it's 10%, although then once insured, wouldnt my car only be worth the 6k rather than 10 or 12k...
Saying this, I suppose skylines are moving up in value so to estimate its worth now for 6k and 6months time it's 12k, not a major issue for GTR's.

Be careful about under valuing a car on a legal declaration. I've known cars be seized by UK Customs for undervaluation. They work to Glasses Guide, and have specialist teams for cars not in Glasses. Best I ever saw was a Ferrari 288GTO deliberately misdescribed on the paperwork as a 308GTB....! I assume Spanish Customs would have similar expertise.

However, UK Customs generally reduce value by a third for LHD, so I would expect similar for RHD in Spain.

Fair enough bro... I truthfully wouldn't have misdescribed the car, skyeline GTR 33 and just under value as if i was going for a quick sale ;)

who knows what i'll do in the end but need to be sorting something!

My insurance runs out in about a week eeek.
