Hi there guys, any advice would be great .
Looking at this my11 gtr premium . for sale at the carspecialists in sheffield.
It is on PH and ebay
Couple of questions :should I be concerned that it has had three owners also hpi check seems a bit vague from two different reports but it is in a garage.
HPI report reads like finance company put it on a register this year.
Ray
Hopefully sl55 amg to GTR soon.

Hi Ray
I saw this ad a few days ago and thought it looked well priced, providing its service history is up to date with Nissan or well known independents, also a big one is to check tyres for wear on inner edges, are they original Dunlop run flats?
Brakes is another must check, look for cracks between the drillings on front discs
Expensive if they need replacement from Nissan but aftermarket discs and pads are cheaper and far better.
Check for stone chips on front bumper and bonnet area, they are prone to this.
Take it for a test drive Make sure the gearbox shifts smoothly model year 11 cars had upgrades to iron out clunky shifts. When the car is warm put it in neutral and listen for loud rattles from underneath, there will be some noises but excessive rattle could be bell housing issues,it's well documented on this forum.
I don't mean to put you off but armed with some basic knowledge will save you £££ and stress.
I made some mistakes when I bought mine but they are a fantastic car.
Mines the same colour too,the one to have IMO.
If you buy one you'll be wanting to mod it,mines at stage 4.25 at the mo.
Are you local to Sheffield?

Looks competitively priced and appears to be a Recaro Edition.

It's under manufacturers warranty so if it's bad enough the bell housing will be covered. Cracking front discs are a known issue as mentioned above but if they're oem then they pretty much all do it. Just change them to AP's or similar. Cost about £800.

Black aside my favourite colour :)

Edit... Number of owners wouldn't concern me personally. It's the type of car that is often purchased as a "toy". People tend to change their toys :) Buy on condition.

Re finance. Make the relevant part of the payment direct to the finance company at time of purchase or make sure it's been settled before handing over the cash. It's possible the details haven't been updated on hpi.

As said above, check with HPI company how much I owing on car,
Then make 2 drafts on to the seller and one to the HPI company to be on the safe side,
I've done this before but many years ago,
If the garage don't like this , get the to show you the email that they have settled the finance prior to purchase,
Most garages have car on SOR bassis,,( Sale or return). This could be the reason it's a customers car who still owes moneys on car,
Whitchurch ever way you do it be carefull, the money is always owed on the car,
You can pay in full and still not be the legal owner,,
Regards Goldie

thanks for help

Hi there Guys, thanks for the quick responses. I live in Lincoln but I am out the country at the minute working.
Must admit this car floats my boat but the hpi is a bit worrying when spending this sort of money.
Garage also interested in taking both my sl55 amg and gardner douglas 427 in px

wanted a GTR since I drove an R33 a few years ago so I've got to scratch the itch

Mine was showing it had finance on the car but it was classed as a stock order or something. Its what sometimes shows when the garage has the car on finance if I understood correctly from a mate in the trade . Apparently not to be confused with normal finance owing as it couldn't be repossessed if its the trade finance that's showing.

I paid the finance company for mine and just took it from the guy who couldn't make the payments. Then sold it to ct17 at the end of the summer

Nice car Ray, I came from an SL55 too. The GT-R double clutch gear box is the first thing to amaze you, so much quicker than the SL paddles, and the torque is incredible too, 3/4 throttle and change gear at just 3.5k rpm is like bang bang bang and you're doing 70 in a few effortless seconds. Handling is amazing obv, and about the same mpg as the SL.

Downside IMO are the seats, they don't even have back bolsters and feel poor quality, you know what the SL seats are like, hugely superior with about 10 million adjustments!

Dash board makes tiny noises that most wouldn't even notice, but annoying, and some minor 'crisp packet' type rustling from behind the rear seats is common.

Bell housing was done on mine but sounded exactly the same when I picked it up from having the work done, like a bucket of nails being shaken under the middle of the car when hot.

Tyres and brakes are an absolute racket of a price, total con. Brakes for the SL are about 10 fold cheaper, and they're huge too. At that mileage if the GT-R's still on original discs they'll probably be slightly cracked and need replacing soon, tyres will be shot if original.

I bought mine privately last Dec, the HPI.com check came back all clear, but the seller told me he actually still owed 45k on it! I paid the finance company directly, no problem, it's usually RCI finance for Nissan, who you can call to chat about it.
