hi all,
I was wondering, is it normal, when my turbo comes on boost, for a puff of blackish soot like smoke to come out of the exhaust?
i think ive seen it happen on some high power skyline videos on youtube.

Yeh, thats not unheard of. A touch of overfueling causes this.. Mine does it, the more boost, the more black smoke..

I noticed was my gtr doing this. It had a missfire (which would come and go) but would allways throw out overfuelling smoke even when I didn't feel the missfire.

I changed all the coil packs for brand new and not only does the car go so much better (a lot better than when I used to think it was going ok when not even missing) but I can't notice the overfuelling smoke anymore.

Yeah it's fine. Just fuel. Actually a good sign if you ask me Just watch for bloke smoke when you lift off - that ain't so good

As long as it’s not over fuelling enough to get bore wash but that’s very unlikely

ive always been happy to see a puff of black smoke on hard accelleration in my cars. id rather be running a bit rich than a bit lean.

skyline doesnt do it though. going on the rollers tomorrow so we'll see whats going on then:thumbsup:

Mine does that too untill it gets warm ,then it's a bright flash of yellows and blues
