wonder if anyone can shed some light on this weirdness. I've been remapping the
injection and started fiddling with a lot of things, including the correction
tables. The car no no longer struggles when heat soaked (stuck in traffic for an
hour, midday summer sun, A/C on full, etc) whereas before the car would suddenly
run very lean and weak on idle when water temps would hit 80 and I'm not moving.

Now the car is unhappy when first starting up. According to the wideband, the
smooth idle is gone and it looks like the engine is choking on fuel while trying
to idle with a 9.5:1 AFR. Give it some throttle in neutral, and the car will
sputter and run very lean.

Worst of all, the dreaded EGT warning light comes on...but doesn't flash. I've
only got mine programmed to come on as a knock warning. Anyways the light turns
on and stays on, unblinking, while this odd fueling behavior is going on.
Sometimes the light will go off, only to come on again.

After starting to drive a bit though, the light turns off and stays off, and the
car runs like a champ once warmed up.

So what is the car trying to warn me about, by turning on a nonblinking EGT
warning light?

Any ideas of what I screwed up, to cause the idle to alternate between mega rich
and mega lean during the first few minutes of running? Car had
no problems until I decided to "deep edit"...all those tables I never
touched...maybe should have remained untouched!!

or maybe worse... mabe somewhere in the wiring or on the PCB a lead has crossed and now presents negative values when they should be positive

I figured it out. If a sensor is out, the EGT light comes on and stays on as a warning telltale. And the sensor that was intermittent? The TPS (what I thought was the injector loom, anyways, the thing I gave a good wiggle to). Unplug any other sensor - that light will come on.
