I'm fairly new on here. i've been a skyline GTST owner for a few years and now have a GTR. To up the power, why do you need a boost controller as well as an ECU like an Apexi Power FC?
What you actually need is the solenoid. The valve that opens and closes and either bleeds off, or pressurizes a port in/on the wastegate.

The Power FC can control their solenoid with a plug in harness.

Other ECU's, all depends. But most can be setup to control the solenoid. I like to do it all in the ECU with no out board boost controller.

The Gizzmo boost controler we have on the GTST is a FANTASTIC piece if kit ;)

In comparison to most others it's a bargain & absolutely ROCK solid in terms of what you programme is what you get, plenty of clever features in terms of programming various boost levels etc etc

my mate just bought the Gizzmo IBC boost controller and it was a good bit of kit

I have the Blitz Dual SBC, and although its pretty dated its a stable piece of kit, it seems to regulate better than the gizzmo my friend had

I hvae the blitz dual SBC, I have not really messed with all the settings since it was fitted when I got the car. But I do like the ease of use and how it doubles as a boost guage.

Gizzmo MS-IBC Boostcontroller

Anyone else installed one of these, looking to get a new BC.
These look pretty good, any comments on them??

Cheers

I have a Profec B but as mentioned above by someone I also get a very wavy boost line on dyno plots with it.

It seems to oscillate up and down by about 0.1 bar, don't notice anything on my boost gauge though

I like the HKS EVC5 its clear, easy to use and does it's job well. Boost pressure is steady over the rev range and can be changed over (off,A,B) at the touch of a button.
I have an Apexi AVCR in a Primera and its always going into * (autolearn i think). And i have to set the solonoid duty cycle manually. It seems if the set point isnt achieved or overshot slightly it goes into*. It is good for monitoring functions peak hold etc but control over boost looks like the top of a castle wall lol, Switching between settings isnt simple if its in monitor mode either...

The primera just made 346bhp @6960rpm and 278.5 [email protected] at Motorscope Northallerton, i nearly fell over coz i was expecting about 280bhp!
After that i had to take the R33 GTR which made 486.1bhp @8339rpm and 348.8lbft @6649rpm.
The worrying thing is i can see stock injectors (yellow) but i think both cars are close to the limit! I'll have to investigate.

and i have read on this page that the aem ems have a boost controller in it? does it include a solenoid???
Yes the ems has a pwm out put for boost control. You will needed you own solenoid which you can get for less than the cost of a manual boost controller. Mine cost $25usd

The reason i beleive you seen such unexpected results at motorscope is due to the dyno over reading by a high amount. This point has been raised on many forums i beleive. Some people have been seeing over 50hp more than acheivble on there setups.
