Please help with a vacuum problem i have currently my car is seeing boost of 0.5bar today i had a look at the vacuum to the pcm valve or boost solenoid i have two diagrams that has aided in my confusion here they are

1

2

my vacuum pipe with the restrictor is going to the plenum and actuators like the green in image 2 but no refrence if it is the restrictor pipe or not

in image 1 the blue seems to go to the resirc pipe wich should be the restrictor pipe:confused:

there seems to be new gaskets on the throttle bodies and plenum could someone that changed them hooked up the vacuum hoses wrong or are they correct

any help will be appreciated thanks

if hoses 8 and 9 in diagram 1 are the wrong way round it will cause your turbos to play up.
the 2 hoses in question are just under the plenum at the back of the engine. (i did it myself when changing my hoses but noticed before i drove the car.) has your plenum been off recently? or new hoses fitted ??

Thanks so image 1 is correct the boost restrictor pipe no 2 should end at no 14

so a mixup on the pipework do you think ?

i imported the car recently from japan and was boosting 0.5 bar since i got it
the only thing is the gasket between the head and throtle bodies seems brand new so maybe did some work on the plenum side in japan

if i blow on the boost solenoid on the restrictor side its closed shut but blowing on the no 1 on image 1 connector seems to allow some air to pass and increases with the amount of air coming through so at the moment my boost solenoid is doing nothing

I know it is a bit of an old thread but I am in the same situation ( just brought a none runner - I FOUND THE BLITZ BOOST CONTROL UNIT BEHIND THE FOOT KICK PANEL ???? , I have 4 tubes that relate to the boost system !! - 2 from the plenum rear and 2 from the AAC valve area under the plenum ?? , and i think that the diagram is wrong !! , the green pipe turns into a blue pipe !! then green again then blue ?? , from the actuators the pipe is the 1 ending with the restrictor collar in it the yellow ring pipe !! , this is the only diagram on the net and i think it is wrong !! , but that still leaves me wondering what to do with the 4 pipes i have .....................

Hey Ted,

Do you have an installation instruction for your boost controller???

Is it a Blitz dual type???

Perhaps you could post a pic ;)

Cheers,

block off all pipes and install the EBC as per the manual

just leave the old boost solenoid plugged in to cancel any errors it might give

that would be nice , but that is not the world I am in , there is no standard solenoid and the SBC is in ! , all this was done by the previous owner , including not mounting the control unit and having it behind the kick plate in the foot well . So I am still at square 1 ....

It wont help much !

but , this is how mine is set up now !

as you see I have exactly what is in the diagram above - I have removed the restrictor from the tube to the solenoid and placed it into the plenum boost feed pipe 1mm hole

Do you know where the 2 pipes in the pic connected to the EBC solenoid end up
and what model is the ebc

blitz ebc spec. r , the older 1 with the thinner knobs , and the 2 tubes are the green and blue in the diagram , the IN on the solenoid goes to the actuators and has the boost source T`eed in as in diagram , and the out to the blue vacuum control pipe/or to the metal pipes that enter the cold side of the turbos - bov system ! i think ..

the boost gauge , and , after market 1 NEVER point above 0 and the turbos do not spin up by the sound of things , certainly no BOV action !!

On the diagram the green pipe leaves the solenoid, but if you follow it to where the diagram is labelled 8 & 9 the colours are swapped.
Possiblty the cause of some confusion.

i have a ebc connected directly to the intake manifold and to the wast gates
so can i just remove the pcm and the 2 hoses joined to it and just put a small piece of hose linking the 2 pipes together at he bottom of where the pcm hoses were connected?
