just fitted new cambelt to my r32 gtr and its wineing think its too tight if i left this would it cause damage when fitted i could turn it quarter turn cheers
mine was also like that when fitted, i tested mine with a tensioner tool. It turned out fine. Cant say if your is o.k or not without testing. Yes people say check by quarter turn but with how much strength do you test?
if it's drastically to tight it could strip the teeth or snap the belt....slightly tight could acclerate belt wear... when i changed mine i took the covers all of a week later to check the tension again ..
did you replace the tensioner and idle pulleys ?
it's always a good idea too because if the cars new to you... you don't know when or if ever they have been changed ..
people always get paranoid when it comes to cam belts because the consequences of something going wrong are so dire if in doubt CHECK IT ..or get a reputable tuner to check it for you
