stock size pistons, as for the head i was thinking about that too

thing is i heard that anything over 10.25mm and you have to cut a recess in the pistons to clear the valves

No, you need to releive the head to clear the cam lobes.
Having seen 905hp from an RB26 with 260 degree cams , I might need to rethink my logic.

272 cams mate 10.5mm lift and yeah you do have to have the pistons recessed depending on what type they are...domed etc.

right his were 10.8mm lift cams, he didnt have the pistons machined from what i recall, just a decent amount of headwork. no porting but new valves, springs etc.

whilst off id personally do the head, may as well! only want to have to take it apart once lets be honest! once done it is done!

neil did then change to a fully ported head with smaller cams and it did have good response. 272's matched with a decent spec head could be on to a winner?

its all in the tuning as well dont forget, depends how the mapper sets the cams and bits up!

what gives you that idea?
ive never seen one fail and if you serch here you get good reviews on the n1 pumps
the other factor is a tomei, greddy or hks pump are around a grand to buy then postage you wont get much change from £1200
but i will keep you guys informed, i dont imagine it will be a problem tho

OMG!!!!!

thanks alot for pointing this out for me mate, you just might have saved me another very costly rebuild.
i will definatly not be fitting the N1 now, no way
like the other threads say, spend a bit more now and save yourself another engine failure

thanks again
