At almost all hosters you can make a support ticket from within the admin panel.

Make one saying you can't get it installed :D

Hi,

This is more of a paid work type of thing than a freebie.
I do this stuff as a side business. Pm me for website and more info if interested.

I'll do it all for £100 (providing you have all hosting needs) and for that you get on going support, when things get tricky. It'll all be working when I done.

Trust me, by the time its all up and running and all the threads have been created you're talking a few hours work and that's on the assumption that your hosting package suppost PHP 5 MySQl etc, which it probably does if you got it free, but you never know as it could be a deal to get you to spend more on hosting. And then there is bandwidth etc.

i can check all this out for you prior if you want for nothing, but this is not a one answer fits all thing, you're gonna need to entrust someone with this stuff (and more importantly need ongoing support from time to time) and i doubt anyone short of a lover or a best friend will it do it for nothing :)

I'll pm you my site if you want and happy to talk on phone.

If you want the free answer, go to vbulletin forum, learn for yourself, read up on some php and get a basic grounding in setting up MySQL database(s) and that is providing you're already know the differecne between FTP and HTTP.

You should also take note on whether its a lifetime license or a yearly one, as you might need to upgrade. I can get around that and set you up with a free forum like phpbb3 or something which is also very good in its own right. Would take me a few hours to get it all working and setup with your choosen threads from the time I receive funds.

Most hosters have it way more simpler then that! It's just one click to install it.

Choose path, choose database name and password and you are done.

But then like Jameiro said you also got to configure the whole thing, userrights, theme, registration process+e-mails, creating categories etc etc.. You sure your'e up to that Unique A/S?

Maybe get someone to do it for you is not a bad idea!

Not just that, there is making sure its all secure, HTaccess files, folder permissions, the actual setup of the mysql details.

This is all stuff that has to be done right or it won't work, unless you want script kiddies and viagra ads spamming it via SQL inject.

I would always recomend people to learn for themselves, but we all delgate stuff to other people whether we can do it or not.

I can build a pc in under 30 minutes and do all sorts of stupid crap with computer graphics, but I can't change brake pads on a car after racing motorcross bikes and being a car nut.

It's all about knowing your strengths and weaknesses vs the money and stress you save by getting someone else to do it :)

Thought I would update as it might be useful for other readers and at least backup my original points.

You DO NOT have the correct hosting package and to make things even worse you're not going to be able to host a forum with your 123-reg.co.uk account because its basically mickey mouse for anything above and beyond basic html stuff and name reg.

If you want to use Vbulletin you're going have to buy a proper hosting package which is going cost you to use it properly.

Ideally you will transfer the website name to your new host too.

The cheap and simple solution (apart from asking at the very start :p) to this is for me to set you up with a phpBB3 forum as its not seen as such a threat to web hosts so they tend to make things less easier/cheaper. Trying to run Vbulletin on hosts who are not properly configured for it could well result in security problems.

The alternative is you spend quite a lot more on hosting. Something like... UK vBulletin Custom Web Hosting | vBulletin Hosting Specialists | vBulletin Forum Hosting Experts

If you were happy to go with phpBB3 it would not cost you a penny for the forum and its forever free.

You could get an annual hosting package then for 60-70 ish and providing your forums do not explode in bandwidth/users it should suffice, but there is no getting around the fact that database driven sites ARE NOT like basic htrml sites, they are much more taxing on your web host servers and for that they will charge you.

Basically mate, I'm suggesting that it might be wiser for you not to spend too much at the start. Try your hand at building a community with a phpBB3 forum as it will cost a lot less and if it takes off I can always do a SQL dump and migrate over to Vbulletin when you KNOW the money you're going to invest is going to be worth while.

Hope this info helps.
