Cover systems make them too
I looked into getting one a little while ago but changed my mind because all I wanted was an indoor dust cover made from a cotton based material.
All these companies make there indoor covers from a cotton/nylon fibre.
I had both companies send me samples and I decided that the material was too harsh for a purely indoor cover.
In the end I got 3 cotton based fleece sheets and attached them together and it has worked for me for approx 1 year.
Hope this helps
I have just looked and can not find the address for cover systems.
The other site I tried was www.covercraft.com they are American but seem to do all sorts of covers.
The Skyline is not listed as such but if I remember correctly they e-mailed me and said they could help.
Remember this is from MAY 2000 so my memory has faded a bit since then
Specialised Car Covers can be contacted on 01943-864646 they are in Yorkshire.
As per previous post I gave up in the end and found some old sheets but don't tell my other half
I imagine you've done your research, but I'd always go for one of the breathable Evolution4/Noah type fabrics - if it's going to stay on the car for any length of time, a totally waterproof cover can trap moisture and blister the paint. Not many places in the UK manufacture properly fitted covers - I seem to remember that when I was looking, a company in Leeds (there may be more than one firm in Yorkshire, from memory) offered the best service. I'll see if I can dig out the information after work.
If they didn't have a pattern, they would tailor a cover to the car if you took it to them, with or without mirror ond aerial pockets, and if I remember correctly, could fit a plastic window to display parking permits etc. I know they had a Skyline pattern, but I think it was for the R33.
Otherwise, there are a few companies which offer "semi-tailored" outdoor covers, but they're not as neat. The joys of on-street parking...
Pete H, I think Specialised Car Covers in Yorkshire is the one you're talking about. They said they'd tailor the cover to fit the car as I've had the rear wing removed. I suppose £160+VAT is a small price to pay to protect the paintwork.
I bought an outdoor cover from Cover Systems for my GT-R33, they make them to measure for most cars. It was £98 inc vat. They are fully waterproof and breathable to prevent condensation. Aluminised finish to reflect UV rays. Protected door zips to gain access to the car without removing the cover. Underneath straps for windy days. Only takes about a minute to get on or off. Very happy with mine.
They have quite a long lead time, mine took about 2 months to arrive, but they give you a definite delivery date when you order.
They are based in Rushden, Northants and can be contacted on 01933 410851.
