The new Koenigsegg CCX (new model) is for the new US market and it comes with carbonfibre wheels. These are meant to save 3kg per corner compared to the standard magnesium alloys ...

Cost £7,500

Just thinking how cool carbon fibre wheels would be on my Gunmental Grey R32 ... :smokin:

Some images of the wheels here

There was a company offering to make these about 18 months ago, I know people who were in contact with him over those wheels (not saying these are the same ones).

However, time marched on, deposits went missing and I think eventually the company was taken over ... never any wheels though which was a shame.

Carbon wheels! Surely the way forward? lightweight, strong and with a great looking finish :smokin:

But unlike alloy if they fail they fail catastophically! I'd rather have a wheel that can absorb the impact of a pot hole than one that shatters a spoke!

There was a company at autosport offering them this January, but only in 18 and 19 inch. They were VERY pretty and VERY light!
