Single turbo manifold is fairly fiddly, would an R35 GTR downpipe be easier and thus cheaper?

Can you give an idea of the cost for the downpipe and also a bit about the process?

Hi

The downpipe is cheaper, and costs £75+VAT. Due to the extreme heats in the GTR downpipe, I suggest the higher temperature coatings.

The process is broken into 4 steps:
Surface Preparation - Return to substrate/ Masking detail and Quality Inspection
Coating Application - 1 or 2 coats depending upon required finish
Curing Process - Oven or Ambient Cure (depending upon Finish) For maximum adhesion some finishes require a full 5 days curing process
Quality Control - Inspection and shipping process

Will give you a go when my turbos are next off. My manifolds and elbows are ceramic coated at the moment, by Zircotec, but your prices seem better.

How thick of a coating is this?

Is it simply a spray and bake coating?

From a performance point, compare your product to one from Zircotec or Swaincoat, as those are they only coatings ive seen that offer substantial gains in both heat retention.

Any Data available pre/post coating is also welcome!

Thank you for your questions.

The coating thickness is dependent upon the finish that you require, from 0.3mm to 1mm.

Zircotec offers a solution in which the ceramic is applied to the substrate at high temperatures, whereas, our coating is a polymer ceramic and is applied as such, which allows a variety of finishes. The temperature range of the Zircotec product is (as far as I am aware), the highest. The maximum which I would recommend for my product line is 1000°c

From a performance point, our coatings have shown considerable reduction in surface temperatures, however, each test is subject to multiple variables, such as environment, temperatures, times, vehicle etc. Below, is an extract from a recent test on our standard black finish:

An exhaust system was heated to 1050F and maintained for a 30 minute period
This showed a reduction of 38% between exhaust gas and skin.
This was then increased to 1540F and maintained for a further 30 minute period.
This then showed a reduction of 52% between exhaust gas and skin.
