i have a 1996 R33 2500cc turbo skyline RWD any one know what turbo that will have?
ceramic or metal?
is there any way of telling them apart?

It could be either, the later the GTSt the more likely you will have a plastic exhaust wheel, you will not have steel unless someone has already rebuilt it with one, though you will not know for sure until you remove the housing and take a peek.

My company supplies the material, and we prefer to call it Engineering Polymer:D Plastic sounds so cheap.

No idea Chris, but the impeller is made from Polyamide6.6 with usually 35% Glass fibre. It is very abrasive itself due to the glass, so would certainly wear down a shroud.

Manufactured using the Injection Moulding method. High pressure liquid polymer injected into a closed die. The die is pretty complicated due to the shape of the blades.
In fact most compressor wheels involve IM, even the ally wheels. Cores in the shape of the final wheel are injection moulded, then used to cast the sand (lost core).
There's a large moulder in Ireland that moulds for Garrett.
