my mechanic said to me that the charcoal canister (next to the intake mushrooms on the R32) is "good for the environment, bad for the engine". How do I pull this thing out? And for the two lines going into the engine, should I block them off, or connect the two via a U-hose? Any extra hoses or wires I need to worry about?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the environment....except when it comes to my engine!

I'd be surprised if it could effect the engine at all.

Its used so the fuel tank doesn't just vent to the atmosphere and release petrol fumes. Every now and again its purges buy the engine sucking out and burning the fumes.

If you have a de-cat pipe its already 20-40 times dirtier to the environment, you may as well make a little effort and keep it in.

Apparently I should change to wood instead of coal in my boiler ... steering & shovelling can get risky at times :chuckle:
