The seventh Cholmondeley Pageant of Power will celebrate a festival of noise from the loudest Formula One car to the roar of the Aero Engines. The weekend will assault the senses with a cacophony of sound generated by specialist engines that for decades have been a driving force over land, sea and air. 2014 will see the fastest car and bike motorsport action yet. The Supercar Paddock promises to be the most extensive ever. There will be more manufacturer stands, death defying air displays, terrifying stunts on water, new artisan food stalls and endless opportunities to shop within our exclusive lifestyle pavilion and trade area.
The history of the Cholmondeley track goes back to the day that Tour Britannia, the classic race and rally tour first visited Cholmondeley Castle in September 2006. Seeing classic sports and GT cars in action on the estate roads sparked the beginnings of the 'track' that delivers such a spectacle. The speed event course was resurfaced and widened in the spring of 2008 as part of a major investment programme to make the 1.2 mile course suitable for a wider range of vehicles including single-seater racing cars.
Three years running now the GTROC has attended this huge event which is better known as the "GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED OF THE NORTH". The difference though has always been a case of it is far less commercial and whole lot more accessible! Both years running we have had a club stand on the side of the track for some of the best views EVER of what is running around their circuit and even last years 'wettest weekend on record' did nothing to dampen the spirits of those who attended! For those of you who have never been its very hard to describe and put into words just how good this event is. It has to be experienced is all we can say especially as there is so much to see and do, even though your car will be on our stand for everyone to see - so yes we're part of the show as well!
Now we are still awaiting for a host of information as normally the first post is overloaded with information, but as soon as we have it then it will be posted on this thread! By far the best option has always been the three day ticket which in terms of value has always been very good and includes entry to the to the fireworks and a concert on Saturday night too
All Skyline, Stagea and GTR's are more than welcome to come and this year we would like to see more of you enjoy a unique and spectacular weekend of motor related madness. Obviously for those coming for the whole weekend then you may wish to book a local hotel, so get in now as nearer the time ... good luck :chuckle: Or you can book a spot for caravans or tents in their on site camping facilities which for the last few years have looked very good indeed to be honest! Dare we say J.A.E could learn a few things from them!
So for now as we need to have an idea of stand size, what facilities we need to offer for those coming on our stand etc. etc. etc. then get your names down - BUT ONLY IF YOUR COMING. This is being organised by the GTROC's Heritage Manager so any questions etc. can be voiced on here or PM'd to me or SPEED MERCHANT directly. As said before you purchase the ticket in the GTROC online shop that goes towards the costs of tea, coffee & facilities all weekend on the stand and then I will contact you with the discount code for you to purchase your tickets direct from the C.P.O.P website.
* Status Quo are also hosting the concert on Saturday night this year
* Please note that camping is only available if pre-booked.
