I've had an intermittent clicking sound coming from the front wheels ( cv joint sort of noise ) but its got worse since the last track day on Saturday.
any pointers or quick fixes would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance

so just a simple take off clean and refit.

I read somewhere about using copper grease on the backs of the wheels - any point in this or is it just a crazy idea that someone had.

also been torqueing up to 150Nm - is this too much ?

The problem is actually the hub to disc (bell) surfaces, not the wheel to disc surfaces (that only works short term as you're squeezing the hub to disc when retorquing wheel nuts).

I did mine a couple months ago and have been silent since, they were clicking like crazy esp on LH lock before. Remove disc bell, clean surface rust on bell and hub, grease, refit = silent. :)

Cheers Trev.

That sounds like a straightforward job as I need to put my road pads back in, so I'll give her a good scrub and clean out whilst the wheels are off

Mine were clicking like crazy and i did mine this january when i changed my tyres. Cleaned disc and wheel faces, applied a bit of copper grease to both faces and torqued to 145n/m and have not heard a single click since so not sure if removing the disc is really necessary.

Yes it is Ned, the rust when you remove the disc is plentiful, yours will probably come back quite soon. I had the wheel to disc surfaces cleaned and greased at the last service and yes it did stop the clicking, but only for about 1k miles. I then did the proper fix and it's been silent since. :) I guess it could be a combination of both (makes sense) but IME the disc to hub was the fix.
