So, on Friday, the Forum is going to Migrate to an entirely new platform. It will look TOTALLY different, some of you will hate , most of you will love it but above all the upgrade is to protect the forums Future.

This Update coincides with launch of a New Book, written by one of our long term members, Alex Qureitem, following him on a Photographic Journey discovering the Generation behind the GTR.

Alex has been kind enough to give the forum 2 copies of the book to give away, so, to win a copy, answer the following.

GTR.co.uk has been online for nearly 20 years and during that time many owners and enthusiasts have passed through it's doors.

Share one example of how the forum has helped you beyond your expectations? Be it someone viewing a car for you, sending you free parts, finding a thread which solved your problem, or even off topic advice. How has this site "changed" your life.

Me, Alex and Toni will decide the two winners and entry closes at 11.59pm on the 31st Dec 2019. Entry is only to residents or users with a postal address in the EU.

Here's a little bit more about the book and Alex will be posting himself more about his amazing journey.

Firstly - the upgrade looks great! I loved the old colour but the new design is more shiny and current (R32 interior vs R35 mebbe?)

This site has helped me massively. The sheer volume of information from posts new and old, about how people have tuned their beasties for all sorts of application,
from Drag monsters, through time attack, drifting and of course just basic togue running, the information here will help anyone wanting to get the most out of their R.
The information posted by people who have replaced parts with new tech and the build threads are probably the most valuable as it helps me discern where i should
take my own build and what parts to use - saving time and money.

One of my favourite sites on the web and one of the few I check daily!

This for me is a simple one to answer when I started a Thread about UK Middlehurst R33's.

How did this site change my life?

Well, Its got to be about how many Forum Members I've never met from all over the Globe who all took the time or effort and banded together with both pictures, rumours and first hand direct knowledge (by messaging Friends, Family, Previous Owners, Nissan Exec's etc, etc) to help out piece by piece in the pursuit of tracking down and tracing as many of these rare surviving UKDM BCNR33's and later on BNR34's models as possible.

After many years on this quest, the icing on the cake (for Me) of this spectacular journey was having direct correspondence with Andy Middlehurst who not only confirmed that Our current list of known vehicles was 100% correct, But He also took the extra time to answer all of my stupid and mundane Skyline GT-R based questions too thanks to His understanding and massively in depth knowledge of all things GT-R.

I've been a Member of several different Car based communities in my time on "Ye olde Interwebs" but never before have I been so humbled by coming together of Folks sharing the terrific amounts of email communication and informative telephone responses that I got from this Forum's dedicated Members both new and old alike for these Topics!(y)

So, Long may this Community of Enthusiasts built for other like minded Enthusiasts continue to thrive and expand as the Number One site for all the Skyline GT-R and Nissan GT-R lovers around the World!

Once again...Thank You, All the best Sean!:)

How has this site "changed" your life.

I'm sure that I won't win the GT-R book - 110% sure.... but here's how the site changed my life.

It was 2008 and I was looking for something a bit 'different', something 'special'......bored with the usual Porsche, Ferrari, Ford, Lotus offerings and i came across Hugh Keirs Millenium Jade R34 V Spec II NUR on this site - at the time this was super scarce due to import restrictions - I knew this had to be my next car........The colour, the shape, the aura that the R34 gave off - I just knew!

The search began and it took me (and Jurgen @ JM Imports) 7 years to find a Millennium Jade NUR that was in the condition I wanted. Luckily Shrek was actually a R-Tune MJ NUR so I was extra pleased and he has not dissapointed me one bit. This started my GT-R ownership which had been so exciting over the past 5 years or so - It's been great to meet so many fellow GT-R owners both in the UK and worldwide and the contacts / friends I have made as a result has been superb!

So, Alex and Toni and I have had a look and are happy to reveal the winners :-

@gtr mart - When "Mart" first joined, he was instrumental in organising local meetings and bringing people in his area together. Although he used FB for a lot of this, he's remained a regular Forum member and user and the Runway day was one of the few, modern unique events organised by normal members- Congratulations and thank you "Mart"

@K66 SKY - I think K66 embodies the true enthusiast. Despite his questionable taste in Luton Rot boxes, his passion, knowledge and attention to detail with the Skylines is unmatched. Few people can honestly say they are as well read on the subject, nor as passionate and he's become a well respected, valuable member of the community. Thank you and congrats.

Both of you should be receiving a PM from @Alex_Q shortly

Thank you for everyone else who took part. The forum has entered a new ERA and hopefully the future is brighter than ever.
