No I'll be taking the old beater up to Nikko. Nissan is coming to collect the car on Mon so hopefully I find out if the idle problem is serious or not (diffuser will have to be replaced). Washers were too small probably but it should not have happened. Then again the standard cars are limited to 180km/h so can't complain to Nissan as I was doing almost 100km/h more :p
Naughty, naughty 280KPH+!!! LOL :)

Maybe time for a carbon diffuser to compliment the Z-Tune bumper!!!

Geez Dino - that is bad luck!! :(
Sure you didn't hit any debris ?
Hope the idle turns out to be OK - maybe just AFMs or something getting old ?
(Good excuse to take the next step though....;) )

280km/h - not sure how you would explain that to Nissan. :D

Regardless, its hard to believe that the diffuser wasn't tested at significantly higher speeds than the limiter - maybe something hit it?

It was great see everyone again. :)

everyone - sorry couldn't make the meeting. Hopefully next time :)

Dino - damage doesn't look too bad....280km/h with a low down car on Japanese expressway: not a good idea! I mean they ain't exactly smooth. You'd think with all the money they get from tolls they could at least have semi decent roads! You most likely caught the ground going over a bump...

The Chuo is a nightmare for that!

well what happened was that a few days ago I hit the diffuser on a big dip mid-way through a corner. Totally didn't see it and I hit the diffuser pretty hard (underneath, not the front). So I'm guessing that pretty much shagged the plastic around the mounting points and the air flow at 270km/h the other night just took care of the rest by ripping it down. The chunk that's missing is due to the fact that I hit a bump while one the brakes after the diffuser started flopping around. It will need to be changed as I'm not driving around with a broken diffuser. Not going for anything fancy as it's probably the most-at-risk part of the car!

That stretch of highway is actually really smooth, and it's always empty at night so it's hard to resist. I was just unlucky, but I really don't care about the diffuser, what I'm worried about is the idle! I hope it's something as trivial as the airflow meters...

Dave....hope to see you next time. We really have to line up the 4 BB cars!!

:D

The Immortal club meet is probably tonight (2nd Wednesday of the month is what they usually go for) but no guarantee. Didn't someone have an email address for one of them ?
Is anyone up for this?
I would like to go when they are present.
Anyways, some friends have shown interest
about going this Friday....anyone else?
If enough people plan to attend, I may cancel
previous plans and go to Daikoku, but I really
want to see about going to the Immortal meet.

Anyone else going to Daikoku?
I cannot guarentee that Immortal
GTR Car Club will be there, but
I will be there with a few friends.
Would be nice to see some friendly
faces tonight. Looks like great
weather for some runs!!!

I'll probably drive over, but it may be a bit later than that.

See you then.
My friend just got his car back from Mines, so he wants to bring it out tonight. It is a white R34. Lives out in Chiba.

Sorry I missed you - didn't get there until nearly 11:00 and the IGOC guys said you'd already gone.
Some nice cars there again though.
Did your friend make it ?

We left at around 10:45. I figured you could not make it.
Myself and my friend in his RX-7 went. Nice cars there.
Did more people show up-other than the pics i posted
in the Members gallery? I am sorry for leaving so soon. We
made it there pretty early, and hung out for a bit. Had
some fun on the way home. We need to have a Gaijin
GTR meet some time, perhaps at the next IGOC meet--
crash their meet!!!
