Hi Folks,

For those who haven't seen my welcome thread my names Steve and I am an automotive upholsterer.

I do a search every now and then on google searching 'Alcantara dash' and this forum is the first up there. I've read through that thread and it kind of fizzled off..

So what I want to offer you guys is dashboard retrimming, I don't just do dash boards, I do everything interior based so bare that in mind.

So I want to work together with everyone get a spare dash in of each model of the skyline and I will pattern that dash and once I have that I can offer you a trim at a cheaper price. Obviously you would like to see my previous work which is here.. Edge Automotive, Your interior specialist.

But here are some dash's I've done for the MR2 folks..

Now as a rough price guide for everyone, I charge £450 for these MR2 dash's, thats the dash only. Not the center console etc. And looking at the Skyline dash's they're very similar and would probably cost near the same

So what I want to achieve here is work together with someone from each model and get the pattern just right etc, or get a spare dash in which might be better.

I'll be posting this same thread in the GTR interior section so they know whats going on aswell.

Thanks, Steve

Yeah, If any one has a spare dash they don't mind being trimmed in Alcantara then that would be great. I've seen a few on eBay at £80 but the R34 dash's are near £250.

Who ever did put their dash up for patenting there would be a discount offered on the trim.

As you can see from this picture here on the MR2 dash..

At the top right you can see the airbag cover, I use 2 panels of material and sew across the middle of where the airbag deploys and finish with top stitch. I use a special airbag thread so that it breaks when the airbag is set off. I can also embroider 'SRS Airbag' for the finishing detail.

I have had 2 people come forward with their dash's for an R35 and R34

Is there a specific brand of Alcantara that you use? The only stuff we have here in NZ that I can find is not UV protected and fades to a blue colour from a charcoal grey?
