Sounds like you could have an uprated diff fitted. Mine does exactly what you describe and has done for years. Does it want to go sideways all the time?

i only just bought the car and i thought, and so did the dealer that there was something wrong that i had to fix. so i have been driving pretty carefull thinking the arse was goin to fall out of it when turning. i'll have to give it a bit and see if it does want to go sideways. whats the best way to know for sure what the diff is, do i have to open the diff up and look inside?
thanks for your info much appreciated, if been hunting on the web and found a couple of things similar talking about a 2 way lsd, but this is my first gtr and ive never come across a diff that does this.

I've had racing instructors tell me 'there's something wrong woth your car' when they've experienced the clunking noise from my diff. I don't know about pulling it apart to see if it's ****ed but to change it for a standard one won't be expensive. You should get the diff for about 100 GBP and if you have an uprated diff you should be able to sell it for more than that.if you jack the back of the car up try turning one wheel and see if the other side turns too (in the same direction)..

They do make an incredible noise!

If it is ****ed I can't imagine you'd damage anything else by driving it but maybe check with some more clever folk than me..

Maybe you should give RIPS a call or another specialist in your part of the world;)
