just bought a 2009 gtr with full Nissan service history, last serviced april 2013 at 28700 miles it now has 32700 so is probably close to a service.

thing is do I go with Nissan when I am sure JM Imports is less than a mile from me. I am sure that JM will be miles better but like all else if I re sell in the future will it devalue my car?

must say never been a car man as could never afford a car that was like my hayabussa zx10 but jesus these cars are just amazing.

what amazed me was drove home in mixed traffic 75-55 mph and got 29mpg.

never drove around with such excitement even driving slowly you know the beast is waiting to be unleashed.

cheers Gary

if selling within the forum don't see it being an issue, as in to fellow enthauists (i can't spell that word) but to the general public, they may not value it as much and prefer a Nissan history?

If it's out of warranty I don't see any harm going to a trusted indy. JM Imports is a well reputable trader here :)

another question in the back of the service book it has a stamp for
transmission assembly replacement record this has been stamped at 24504 miles.

it does have extended warenty though this was with last owner, and in the small print it says not transferable if bought through a trader.
so how will they know if you bought direct from the private buyer or not as with almost 10 months left it would be a shame to loose this.

is this the gearbox or something else, just that with service books it does not say what has been done.

cheers gary

JMimports get a  from me. Have used them a couple of times for a service and other jobs and have been top notch. Very good service pricing and the labour rate is very good. Plus you get to drool over all the other sexy cars lying around!

I wouldn't worry about the resale value of the car as you'll save more money on the servicing. And as said above JMimports are a well known company and well respected. Their stamp in the service book would mean more to me than a stealer one.

Not sure what the 'transmission assembly replacement record'. Sounds like it could have had a new gearbox??

thanks guys you cant argue with the advice and 10minute walk from the office it has to be JM. thing is MY12 gearbox upgrade sounds like it is a must but what about the upgrade to the 550 my12 power is this worth doing and how does it effect the runinig costs. as on the new MY12 they seem to get better economy all round yet more power then the previous models or is this more to do with other engine mods injecter etc?

Jurgens Stamp is worth more then nissans! lol Most GTR enthusiasts will know about him and his company. If your up that way then you wont find a better GTR specialist. I use Litchfield's myself but JM Imports is in the top 3 for me when it comes to GTR specialist

Its all just a ecu remap which improves power and economy.

I'd get a de-cat y-pipe as well to improve the noise at the same time! Cheap, easily reversible mod  and then you're good for about 580bhp :smokin:

looking forward to see how it performs and sounds but will this be the start of more to come?

well stage 1 done and my goodness had jurgen take me out and show how to use launch control and put it through its paces.

wow it is intense stuff and with the MY12 gearbox software makes it so much better at junctions and hill starts.

the good news the car has only been launched 4 times and all was in good shape other than a small bell house rattle.

great service and highly recommend as its nice to see the faces that do the work and feel passionately about what they do.

the only thing I need now is a harry potter blanket for when you end up doing ridiculous speeds and need to hide :runaway::runaway:
