Its fair to say that the last 2 yrs have seen a fair few outright jap drag cars start appearing on the scene anyway. quite a few people are buidling for 8s drag only cars over the winter.

If they won't let me run at Pod I'll just go somewhere else or not bother.

CHRIS T O T B it,s a difficult task you have chris to meany rules will turn people away,where as not enough rules will turn people away cos it,s just not worth competing if you dont stand any chance of winning.i for one want to see all the top cars running because thats realy what we all go to see,who wants to go to santa pod to watch a R W U B car doing a 15 sec run.dont know what the answer is ,but constructive debates can only help to come to some sort of arrangment.:wavey: NISMOMAN

Hi guys, I'm new on here but some of you know me, Its interesting to here peoples comments on the new rules but they are for safety, As Simon has mentioned they my look to altering the rules from the feed back gained from introducing them before the season starts, However the I dont see them easing up on the roll cage ruling, these are proven safety criteriors set by the MSA (NOT Santa Pod) Santa pod are enforcing them and if they ease up on the jap cars then all other racers will want the same break. Basically I believe it to be the stepping stone to taking it serious or not and these safety criteriors would cost less than 5% of what alot few of you already have spent in your cars. Not to mention with some chassis tuning many of you could go quicker anyway.

Was up at Pod today and bumped into Darren and David whilst there, David said that the rules were open for discussion as a starting point and were aimed at people making new cars,ie if youre about to build a new car, follow these rules as in future the rules will start to get tighter. Anyone who will actually race next year - its probably best to contact Santa Pod and air your views as to the content of the rules.

If no-one gives them feedback, they wont know they need amending and how to agree on something everyone can adapt.

I've done quite a number of things to the engine since I last ran at the strip.

Fitted a new AET turbos hybrid & different intake manifold.

It made 409 HP at the flywheel at just 10 psi.

I'm going to remap it for about 18-22 psi (depending on power output) on the 5th January.

As for grip, I have fitted a new suspension setup and am still waiting on my Bogart wheels and M&H tyres.

The car will easily run into the 11's this year without an issue, I guarentee that!

SC/PRO 1.2 Exhaust:
All cars must be equipped with exhaust collectors, headers or stacks installed to direct exhaust out of car body to rear of car.

Reading this it looks like side exit exhausts are not allowed

Doesn t that mean if its a side exit it must point towards the back ie not just to the side but slightly backwards? Otherwise I guess it would say exhaust must exit after the rear axle, or exit from rear of car only

I believe you can run side exit aslong as it exits behind the line of the drivers seating position.
What Andy has said makes sense so even if you do not meet the spec contact them and see how close you need to be with what you already have.

Well that would be OS Giken screwed as well and bye bye to most of the other competition.

I think that if you look into the 3L OS Giken engine you will see
that OS take a new std nissan OEM block and bolt a spacer on the top.

So the OS engined cars do run with a OEM block

I think that means a block from an OEM (car manufacturer), not a block origianally speced for that car.
ie, a Micra with an RB26 or even a JZ80 would be legal.
