where are they in the engine bay? anyone have any photos pointing them out, so I can check mine?

There's one at the offside front, just under the fuse box. Think this is chassis to engine, unless the lead goes all the way to the battery in boot (on R33). The wire is black with yellow stripe just as you'd expect the main earth.
