Yeah, you can do it by disconnecting the battery. Just make sure the wheels are styraight first, disconnect the battery and then stand on the brakes for a couple of minutes or so to drain what power is left in the ECU.

cheers, i disconnected battery last night and will connect it this morning and see if it goes a little better ,,,,,,,

Take it for a spirited drive the ECU has to reset whilst driving, it will not immediatly be ok it needs a few miles to reset its map

cheers mate i gave it a bit of a run round today and it seems a bit more responsive now i have removed cat and done a re set

..and where might one obtain said cable Shade, and I suppose software would also be required, so where can the kit be sourced?

I'm not sure if he still sells em' but I bought the cable & software from a member on here, MartinC.
