I've just fitted a decat and Downpipes to my R32 GTR, and my boost has dropped from .9 bar to .7??? I disconnected the EGT connector under the passenger seat.

I've also fitted some known good standard dump valves to try and cure the misfiring issue I've been getting.

The car no longer misfires (Fingers Crossed), but only reaches .7 bar max boost????

Any ideas???

The sensor is just a CAT ON FIRE sensor and is only used to light the warning on the dash, if you disconnect it all that will happen is the light wont come on.

You have changed the ehaust back pressure by fitting the de-cat.

You will need to modify your boost control system to get your boost back

You should really involve a tuner to make sure you dont push your engine too hard with the wrong air / fuel ratio.

Try reconnecting the cat sensor, just in case it has gone into "limp-home" mode as a result of removal. Not sure if this exists on Skylines but could explain actuator boost if it does.

Hugh, would lower backpressure not result in overboost and unstable boost rather than limited boost?
