Hi just had a Boost C. fitted and a Re-map on a R33 GTR now Engine light flash at 7800-8000Rev @1Bar take boost down to .9 and all is ok.

Apexi Power FC.
Greddy E-01.
Downpipe.
De-cat.
Apexi Induction kit.

Remap is spot on as was done together.

Flow meters maxing Poss or Leaking injectors maybe.

Any ideas.

it will be one of three things either your getting knock, or your injectors are at the limit of whats set in the power fc i.e if its set to warn at 90% you are over that not necessarily maxing the injectors or your air flow sensors are maxing out or as explained before

1/ Please elaberate on what you would like to no from the hand held i will look
2/ Fuel may be bad but This happen when we was mapping so this is why we put down to
.9 bar so now does not flash engine light.
3/ I could be wrong but if was coded for a shift light would it not still work at .9 bar
4/ The max knock over a 200mile run is 24

I have decided to get the injectors flow tested and clean will post results when done

so your saying the injectors were maxing out on the tuning and the light was flashing so you turned it down and now it doesnt do it?

you need to bring up the injector duty in percentage in the commander if its high when its doing it i.e over 90% its going to be this

how was it mapped by yourself or a tuner if its a tuner take it back!

Hi I have spokern to the tunner and we think a injector may be leaking as it also uses alot of fuel 195miles on a full tank so we think a injector or 2 may be playing up.

after the light flashes check your readings for inj duty 100, knock 60 or more and airflow 5.1 v. if any of these are the figures ive stated thats what is making the light flash. have you got a fuel pressure gauge ? does it hold pressure when you stop it ?

If it's happening when mapping then surely the mapper knows the power fc, and can tell you why this is happening???...

Hi all thanks for the posts Injectors are now back all tested and clean £88 if you are intrested in how much it was. All tests was good so no problems there. Next step is Going to put on a new fuel filter (Cheap Anyway) then will check Commander like Scooby says. Poss after if no faults found may be fuel pressure problem will look in to Pump, regulator and check fuel lines just incase damaged/Restrictions. Will post results when done.

Keep up this post mate, i'd like to know the out come as my car is booked in to be tuned and mapped among other things in a couple of weeks.

Knowing my luck it'll have similar problems. Call me cynical!

@Chilli, and anyone else as a matter of fact. The apexi faqs has been offline for a while now... :sadwavey:

Has the tuner not been able to tell you exactly what it is?

Hi had a good look at FC Commander Inj Duty 92.2% Air Flow 4.7v Max Knock is 24 all ok I would say. (NOTES...Injector duty may change when sorted because asking to much now because of the problem).
So have now put on a new fuel filter in all my years I have never seen such a bad black fuel filter so think i am in the right field (I no why didn't i do that 1st). Could prob stop here but am putting on a new upgraded pump and fuel reg because changing turbos later anyway. got to get done by easter weekend as that Saturday it is being Re-Mapped again will post results when done.

your injectors are maxing out as i said before!!!! the warning will be set lower than 92% duty you need bigger injectors and should ideally not run any more than 85% duty as the spray patterns can become distorted as its near the maximum they can do

Hi thanks for the reply As I posted the injector duty is high to obtain the BHP that it is at now. So thank you that is why the light was flashing (Original post sorted). But maxing at this sort of power we think there is more going on so now we are going to continue to see why this is the case as 360BHP with fully clean injectors seems a bit low to me. Regulator and Pump going on mid week and Re-Map easter weekend. Will post results.

Looking forward to continued updates mAte. My engine sucks the big fat one. Like I said mine was booked in for turbo swap and re-map due to recent problems. Had to pull the plug on that and it now looks like I need to rebuild the engine.

I decided to check comps on the cylinders, 2 is well low.

A Power FChas a warning for injector duty, AFM over voltage and Knock reading , they all flash @ different speeds ( warnings for all 3 are changable as well)

As the tuners what the alarm limits are set to? Irecon it is Injector duty that is flicking the warning light? you can turn one of at a time to work out what is the def problem thou.

Take it that’s fly wheel mate? To give you a comparison I have a 33 gtr, I have forged engine and 2530 turbos but stock fuelling, cams and afm (still saving for those) my car made 415 bhp at 89% injector duty if that helps?
