this one has been going on for an awful long time

bought to us initially around october last year the owner just wasn't a happy man

the car is number 1 of 30 performance editions which where factory wrapped by 3m in collaboration with BMW

the original wrap he just wasn't happy with so after some discussion they agreed to completely replace with new

this you would have thought to be an end to it

sadly not - the second wrap which you are about to see fell a long way short of the mark too

dodgy cuts and some areas just not wrapped at all it soon started to peel and pucker up

other cute tricks like selotaping down the edges even made me giggle !!

on arrival

ridiculous place to have a join instead of just removing the spoiler

other areas with issues

obviously this wasn't salvageable so off it came

areas like this showed how little was removed from the car

once removed a number of areas where unfortunately cut through and into the metal

this was reported to the owner and the car returned to BMW to rectify​

a few weeks ago the car was returned with the paint issues resolved and this week saw us finally put an end to matters

a full new wrap installed in all the right ways

on arrival and made ready

during fitting

and complete

all sorted !!

it took a while but we got there in the end lol

managed to grab these on the way out for you buddy

petrol flap under rubber before it fell short

no paint now showing with the door shut

roof corners fully covered and super smooth

door handles fully wrapped rather than just the front

front bumper fillets neat and not bridged

nice even insertion into doors depth

side skirt neatly into a swage rather than wobbly in the middle of nowhere

number plate reveal fully covered

parks sensors actually wrapped

same around the reflectors - this wasn't covered at all previously

now runs straight under the spoiler

lots of small details that really add to the overall finished standard

Never thought about wrapping any car of mine but the more i see these perfect results the more i think perhaps one day

Mine is getting stickered up for Le Mans this week but that's the closest i've ever got

Amazing that the original job they seemed to want to only use the bare minimum of material!
Shocking considering the cost from new of that car.

Out of interest did BMW stump us the cash for it to be rewrapped by yourself as it was such a **** up in the first place or did the customer have to foot the bill?
