I am fitting a Blackvue camera to the front and wondered if anyone had done this before and can offer up some advice.

Was going to get my local Autoelectrician to do the work but will he have issues with the trim removal etc and should i go to a specialist GTR garage such as Kaiser to ahve the work done? Its going to ahve the hard wire so not via the cig lighter.

And if anyone has any other advice on the camera then please comment.

I've fitted a few.
They are easy to do in the front.

Stick the camera under the rear view mirror.
Take the cable up to the headlining.
Tuck it under the edge of the headlining along to the side with the fusebox and then down the A pillar behind the door seal.
Then just run the cable to the fusebox and either fit a 12V socket adapter or cut the ciggy socket plug off and wire in as required.

I wire mine into an ignition live so it's always on when driving as I only park on the drive or in work most of the time.

If you want it on all the time, including when not in the car you need an extra box of tricks to protect the car battery if you leave it for quite a few days.

By all means get your auto-electrician to do it if you are not sure, it shouldn't take him more than 30 minutes.
You don't have to remove trim panels.

Nice to see it being tested down the glorious southend seafront there Rich. Is that the worlds longest pleasure pier i see in the distance... why yes it is!

Oh southend pier... is longer than yours... Oh southend pier is longer than yours! :p

All fitted. Actually a lot easier than the M5 I previously had. The GTR fuse box is so accessible!

FYI anyone fitting the magic power pro battery pack, it fits perfectly under the driver seat. Some industrial strength velcro and it's not going anywhere :). The wires are all hidden too, fitting is quite simple.
