I'm going to book the car in next week to have to slave cylinder fitted. Hopefully the issue will be fixed although I'm not expecting it.
Is it a time consuming job ?

Oh and its a push type gearbox with a push type slave cylinder. Is it a job for your average mechanic ? I have a trusted local mechanic that does the work on my wife's car. I only use specialists for my own car but if it's a simple job then no harm can be done ?

I am a spanner when it comes to these things.

I just don't have the space tbh, I want to get stuck it but without any space it's difficult.
Bought a house though with a big drive and big garage which will help but don't move in until March

Very easy to fit, but you should really get a braided line at the same time. Then bleed the junction block first then the slave cylinder.

I'll just take it to my not so close tuner garage then. I don't want to make my local feel inadequate

Thanks for the tip on the braided line

There is a mechanic who these days is nothing more than a fitter with no real clue how things work, and there is an engineer who has an understanding of how things and can think out side of the box in tricky situations. Sadly there are too many fitters these days.

I would personally do you it yourself :)

Yep as above the satisfaction when finishing a job well done your self is second to none. And at the sametime your learning aswell
