I'm about to change the PAS pump and wondered if there are any tips or things i should be aware of and do before i go plunging in.
Couldn't find a 'How To' thread on it so if there's something helpful i should know, i'm all ears :)

May l ask why you changing it in the first place?

Because it sounds like i'm grating a bag of nails everytime i turn the steering wheel. :)

It's fairly easy. I can't think of anything special.
What about bleeding the system? Any special way or just normal bleed proceedure

Paul,

do you run a custom PAS reservoir or the standard one???

I have made a custom one for my car so I could relocate it and at the beginning it was 100% tight which has caused cavitation when turning I think giving a similar noise like you said...

...the I made a small slot into the surface where the O-ring of the cap sits as a vent and now everything works fine again :)
