Ever since I went from F-Con S to F-Con V Pro, the car has ceased flaming - in all fairness, as per my request to magic mapper Dan at Abbey. But I still miss it. Juvenile but fun an' all that.

Lo, imagine my surprise the other night when I discovered that it does still flame... You just have to be driving with a little more... gusto. :chuckle:

I have always wondered about this...

Do you think the standard factory map dumps more fuel into the cylinders after ignition to keep everything cool.... it seems that Nissan went a bit overboard with cooling on the GTR...

did the same fella map your Fcon S and you Fcon V?

I wonder what an F-Con would do to my stage 1 car..

would I notice a difference?

Small problem

I'll probably come along to the do, but by Christmas, I am afraid that Tracey will no longer be my wife. :(

On the other topic, an F-Con V Pro will make a difference due to the finer granularity of the map.

And, Madsteve, I can safely say the there was categorically no one even close behind me. :D But I do know what you mean.

It is due to how the 2 systems work, the S system still uses the AFM,s so when you lift off the throttle the engine will still pull air through the AFM,s so fuel will still be injected so voila flames are made, where as the Pro system use a Map sensor, when you lift of you read instant vacuum so no fuel will be injected so no flames, SORRY Jae.........

Not a problem. It does flame, only three times since the map (I said no flames, and he did no flames) it's just smile inducing to hear the happy Whoomf! as the underside of the spoiler lights up. Not something I'm going to do to often as you REALLY have to be giving it death to do it.

Does exactly what it was designed for, incidently. Having day trips to Sheffield on a reasonably regular basis now, and it's damn fine on the 460+ mile round trip.

I do enjoy spitting the odd flame, however my car is currently running an unknown piggy back and overfuelling massively so if I am sitting at anywhere from 30-60 and I tether the throttle its starts frying pedestrians. Have an f-con pro waiting to go on but my rad just popped and the clutch has started to slip
