Its only been stood 2 weeks, went to start it today and dead flat. Really surprised how small the battery is on these cars. Also, opening the door manually isn't overly pleasant with a dead battery because the window doesn't drop that little bit it needs to in order to clear the trim. Thats a rather nasty clunk then as it forces its way past.

I think its the tracker sucking the juice out. I've got one on my Escort Cosworth and no battery saver can keep it charged up enough so I have to disconnect the battery. Don't really want to do that with this car.

Anyone else got a trickle charger on to keep it up? (ooh er missus!)

think my battery is nearing it's end ; bit like starting a deltic on a cold morning today

I had this with mine. 5 minutes of having the stereo on while i was drying off after cleaning was enough to prevent me from being able to start the engine! Trickle charge has sorted it out though. It has been in the garage with little use for a while though so to be expected

You can't go wrong with a CTEK - my advice would be to buy a CTEK charger first which should diagnose if your battery is past it, but it can also revive an over depleted battery. My car is over two years old and still on the original battery, and garaged most of the time without showing any signs of a problem. I use a CTEK but don't rely on trickle charging, I just give it a periodic full charge and it's seems to be fine?

Yeah I'm still on original battery and its an 09 car so could be getting tired. Charged it right up and took advantage of the dry roads yesterday, had a fantastic drive out and it starts fine again so thinking it just gets drained with the tracker. Gonna try a battery saver as I've got a spare and if that doesnt do the job then I'll look at the CTEK.

Got some admiring looks yesterday, didn't think people would notice the car that much. I could even spot one guy in the back of a car in front talking about it as they all kept turning round! Brilliant.

The cold air certainly seemed to agree with the car. Really went well, had her up to 69.9mph at one point.

What symptoms did you guys have when it wouldn't start due to low voltage? Just went out to mine, cranked once but didn't start now starter clicking away and won't start. Only tried a couple of times, kind of decided low battery voltage and have left it in the garage for a min.

Any help or advice appreciated!

Yup, sounds like what I had. I've put a battery trickle thing on mine now which seems to have solved the problem. Its nasty if they get dead flat because the window doesnt drop when you open the door.

Stupidly small battery on a car that has quite a lot of electrics.

Cheers fella, that's what I suspected, just borrowed a trickle charger and my mission this weekend is to finally purchase one!! Guess I have been lucky not to have had any problems in the 12 months I've owned the car (MY09)
