Where do you get your replacement discs from?

im after 343 x 32mm discs without bells and the internet is not helping me for prices.

How much do you guys pay for them and where do you get them from?

I know RB etc will sell them just wondered if anyone had their own little cheap place to buy them!

Cheers

Ap wont sell direct to the Public. Why not try to get a PFC disc to fit your bells , AP discs are rubbish in my opinon.

have you got the part number for your discs?

Bernard , think I can match that nowdays but they do really need to be run with PFC pads as well thou.

Got a couple of cars running PFC rotors far far better than AP rotors.

ap direct quoted me £218 plus vat per disc.

i never realised brake discs were so expensive! haha then again ive never had proper sized brakes like this before!

i could get the part number if you want them mark, i think there are still a fair bit left in my discs atm, is only a very very small lip on the discs. Jamie thinks the discs are warped which would make sense so i may get them skimmed slightly and take it from there.

Still loads left on my pads as wel so dont want to go changing them yet if can avoid it! :s

My brakes have never seen hardcore braking from me, couple of high speed braking but that is it, they are second hand but only had 1k miles on them or something stupid like that.

I presume from there web site? they wont give trade to a non trader thats what I meant.

Did you think the rotors was going to be £75-00 each then, time to wake up. Wait until you need a 380mm + rotor your fall off of your seat....

only had 1k miles on them or something stupid like that.
I recon they havent been bedded in properly yet , have they got pad deposits on the rotor faces? maybe need a clean with some cleaning pads ( very agressive pads) and then bedded in correctly.

I will sort out the correct bedding in procedure , I have bedding in pads if you need them , If you drop down with the car it wont take more than an hour to clean the rotors up properly on the road

nah i expected something like £150 a disc etc, but not £250 haha

tbh everything about these cars is expensive so why not brake discs :)

No, no deposits on the faces of the discs, ill see what i can do matey, will give you a call to get a better diagnosis of them.

The main problem i had when i bought them is that the discs were not marked up which was used left and right etc. i know the vanes should tell that apart but when ive had the wheels off i never remember to look at the direction of them and the grooves on the outside seem to go different ways on different discs so cant tell by them. You may be right about them not being bedded in properly.

AP discs usually have arrows on the bell/hat indicating rotational direction for those that can't read the vanes.

Mark, what's wrong with AP discs?

The centre vanes in the rotors should lean backwards , the venting works by the air going into the discs via the inner side of the rotor and being spun out to the outer edge.

They just seem to warp to easily in my opinon, they need so very good cooling to make them last , I have found the PFC rotors work very well and never had problems with the Stoptech stuff either.

We find most hassle with rotors is caused by wrongly bedding in rotors/pads and not by being warped.

What Mark said ..... compared to PFC, AP discs are crap.

I'm now running AP Calipers mated to PFC discs and pads.
Work undertaken by the Abbey chaps, superb improvement (and free coffee !)
