The police very kindly band me from using it on a public road in 1993, so I thought just the excuse to take it of the road to do it up. What can I say I'm a fast worker!

Minilites are the obvious choice, but everyone has them.
Just picked up on this thread and I won't bore you about the fun and hard work I've had with dog bone Escorts at a time when they were actually a modern car. The Twin Cam will always be my favorite - reminded me of my Lotus Cortina.

I'm jealous Graham.

Anyway, the reason for my post is that real (mag) Minilites are rocking horse shit. Can you still get them?

Always wanted, so..... and then bringing in 2 was cheaper than 1 and it sort of snowballed. Tempted to do it as a sideline business to my work in IT, but figuring out the import process is the difficult bit :)

Doubt I will be able to find real ones...

Some good country lanes out behind Gatwick, Redhill and Outwood if you fancy a drive ;)

If only I had time to discuss those lanes on the Forum and the cars that I drove through them - plenty of back seat stuff in those days as well.:)

Outwood presumably still has the windmill and a couple of nearby pubs - not so important now that we don't drink and drive.

But real Minilites - aaagh. From memory 13 x 5.5J.

I can only imagine.... will have to buy you a beer/glass of wine and hear all about it :D yes some cools pubs there and the Windmill (its for sale.... £1 million) is still around.

I did see gt40 club meet at one of the pubs in the Windmill, they all left 1-2 minutes apart and much such a noise when leaving :smokin:

V8s do make a noise and it's surreal for me to remember wafting around in my late teens on those exact roads at 2.00 in the morning in my Tiger mit bird with the top down. Her top wasn't down until we got home but don't tell Maureen.:nervous:

I'm off to bed but will want to know if you get some real Minilites .......

Some news.... VAT has been paid :) and I am arranging collection for Thursday :) being delivered to Sly (who is going to service and MOT) and I will be there on Saturday afternoon to have a look at them :D

Doubt they will be ready to drive, especially on the road, but things are progressing!

New toy for after the holiday :D cant wait!!

Well the purchase has gone through and the car is going to be shipped in the next few weeks, so figured it was time to put up a bit of a teaser of my new project. Still waiting for a shipping date. Wanted one of these for quite some time now, along with a couple of others (hopefully more on these a little later)...........

Not sure what I am going to do with it, but it will be a fun little toy Will need a few mods to get it road legal over here, but has just gone through a bare metal restore and is currently running a Sierra 2.0l engine.

Very tidy!

It'll be interesting for me to know.

If your garage gets stuck on getting the machines to run smooothly then just let me know. Unless the engines are clapped out, fine tuning should not cost you big bucks.:)
Thanks!

Engines are not clapped out... one is standard and the other is the sierra.

White one was started last week :D have a nice long list of things to do to finish it and then I will more than likely put it up for sale. The idea is to use the funds from that one, to rebuild the blue ;)

Unfortunately the blue one was not in as good condition as I thought, but I think its still a great starting point and will have all of winter to get it finished.
