Hi all I just changed the oil in my gearbox yesterday. I'm just wondering if somebody could answer a question for me. Everywhere I look it say that the gearbox should take between 8.5-9L of oil but for some reason I could only get mine to take around 6.5L. Could somebody please tell why this is.

If you do it this way then a chunk of oil stays in the bottom of the tray (and you can't clean the magnet or inspect the oil pan). The best way is to remove the full under ray and get rid of all the oil then replace after cleaning the magnet and then you can get a full load of clean oil in. No idea why Nissan didn't set this as standard as you end up with 20% of your tranny oil as used even after a change. Time for NHPC is only thing I can think as it does take another 45 minutes or so.

Hope that answers.

Thanks very much I think that is the reason why I couldn't get the full amount of oil in. I was just afraid that I didn't have enough oil in the box and that I could do some damage to the box.

Thanks very very much for all of yer help.
