Hi All,

Been back from goodwood festival of speed a short while (had to jet wash the car down - the fields i had to drive through were 6 inches deep in mud ! I did get to try a WRC style 4 wheel powerslide on a 90 degree bend though, so not all bad !, plus just had a shower to cool down - i can't remember ever getting so sunburnt in my entire life !).

Anyway, this is the first time i've ever been to this event, and i was very, very impressed. I'd go so far as to say this is easily the best motorsport event i've ever been to. Whereas do you get F1 cars, Nascars, Dragsters, WRC cars, specialist hillclimb cars, World Superbikes, etc all in one place ? I've never seen F1 cars in action other than on the TV, and they did not disappoint ! I have never seen cars travel so quickly and sound so incredible...and deafening with it ! Everything about today was top notch - really glad i went.

Sorry to those who i was meant to meet up with (namely Nick W and Paul J). The place is enormous, so finding people is a bit of a mare. Plus, once you get a good spot to watch the action, the last thing you want to do is move. Anyway, i hope you also enjoyed the day.

Henry and Guy - saw both of your cars on the ATS stand - but unfortunately had filled me Smartmedia Card so couldn't take any snaps. Both cars looked fantastic (Henry, never seen your so clean ! :D ). There was a Cossie parked in between, but it faded into insignificance ! Heard a couple of "WOW! look, skylines" comments, and one woman said uv neva bin in ta Neesans, but i'd av both 'a'dem" !! Quality.

Great day, great event. I recommend it to everyone !

Cheers,
Daz

Another happy punter...

Fully agree with the above statement.

Once again a marvelous event (I've been going for the past five years). Weather on the first day was [email protected], hence the mud everywhere. The sights and sounds do make up for it, though. The image of Rod Millen in his Pike's Peak car hurtling sideways past Goodwood House in the wet will stay with me for a long time!

The Skyline duo at the ATS stand looked great indeed. And they sound even better! The ATS boys were nice enough to pop the hoods and fired both cars up. Brilliant!

Mind you, watching a 11,500cc dragster perform a rolling burnout is nice too.

Until next year!

MDG.
