Hi Guys,

Well after having the new turbos fitted I decided to have the car dyno`d to see if there was any difference and the results were :-

491 bhp @ 1.1bar and 357lbf-ft @ 6600 rpm

Last time with the standard turbos it was running :-

468 bhp @ 1.2bar not sure on the Torque as I do not have the print out here.

I`m quite pleased with the result and just need to fit a new headgasket now so I can break the 500 mark :D

They are Greddy T517Z`s and as you can see they must move a bit more air :) I don`t want to risk going any higher than 1.1 bar until I sort the headgasket out. Should keep me busy for a weekend ;)

What else has the engine had done, or is it all stock but just the turbo upgrade and intercooler..?

And such a nice colour

Hi Guys,

Current spec is :-

HKS stage 1 cams
Trust Intercooler
Trust Oil Cooler
HKS FCon
Apexi AVC-R
Uprated Coil Packs
Trust Turbos`s
Trust Down pipes
Trust Exhaust

Maybe a few other things I forgot but the rest is standard.

i would like to know how you can get 23 bhp
more out off your engine running less boost that
what it was running before. 1.1 bar is 1.1 bar same for 1.2 bar boost.
just because you have fitted bigger turbos does not make any odds
to the amount of air going into your engine at that level of boost

As the turbo`s are bigger they will push more air into the engine and lower boost pressures. If this was not the case why would anyone want big turbo`s !!!

GOOD CHOICE RICHARD.

GReddy T517Z`s are a brilliant choice for the RB26 engine,your 1.1bar figures are excellent.

well done then with all the work done to your car.

pity a lot of the guys on this site have had to spend thousands
and thousands off pounds more than what you have had to spend to make the same power. they have had to run 550cc injectors and bigger with a head gasket fitted and run over 1.3 bar boost to make the same power why is this ?????????

maybe it is the same as MIKE 33 dyno run well over powered

when he went back to the same dyno only weeks later with no other mods done to his car :mad: where has all my power gone:rolleyes: .
maybe a bit of foul play going on here :(

It's interesting... my car is running 424bhp and the standard injectors are at near max duty (stock fuel pump/line). I looked into HKS Step 1 cams+pulleys myself recently but was told fitting them without uprated injectors would only exacerbate the duty problem further still.

You sure you haven't had your injectors upgraded somewhere along the line Richard? :)

injectors

on my last car with the power fc the std injectors were
running flat out at 1.25 bar boost around about 7800 revs
that car was taken to the max that was safe and it made

453 BHP AT 7350 REVS
309 BHP AT THE WHEELS
355 LBS TORQUE AT 5740 REVS
this figures were done on the same type of dyno maha
something for you to compare to darzel

My cars obviously not normal :) The injectors look like there still standard as the previous owner had no reason to have changed them with the mods on the car!!

I`ll try and get the printout scanned if anyones intrested !!

P.S Cheers Henry they are nice but do have a little more lag but I`m getting used to it now :D

It`s only a quick gear shift down,What lag now :D
Mine goes mad above 4k through to 8,500rpm.

I only run 1.1bar as well on the road unless Guy is chasing me around the back roads of West Sussex & Surrey.:eek:

I don`t have any 1.1bar figures but here are my 1.3 & 1.5bar numbers;
1.3bar.......586.5BHP 455lbs torque


And at 1.5bar.........635BHP 462lbs torque


I do have exactly the same turbo`s as you ,I checked with Tim of SVS to make sure.

At 2bar I would be over 680BHP.

Hi Richard,

Sounds like you have some uprated injectors to be honest, either that or some bloody amazing standard ones! :)

Incidentally, I assume you sourced the turbos from Tim @ SVS? Could you give me an idea of the total cost (including whatever fitting charges were involved as applicable)? Private message/SMS me the details if ya like :)

richard i see that you and keith had about the same torque
keith had 355lbs and you 357lbs only 2 lbs in it.
so why should your car have 38 bhp more than his car ????

keiths injectors were running flat out at 1.25 bar boost
so keith car was running 0.15 boost more but you had much more power than his car.
this just does not add up.

what was the drag on both cars guys also what was the power
at the wheels on your car richard.

the std injectors can only flow so much fuel
