We arrived to a wet track and a forcast of showers throughout the day, the track dried out and qualifying started around 1pm.

It was a DYO championship meeting so super quick times were not needed, just real good lights and consistancy so we dropped power off the line a little and pulled the boost back alot from around 100 meters out to get a feel for the track.

Everyone goes against each other and the quickest 8 cars go in Top comp, the 2nd 8 go in Pro Comp, the 3rd 8 in super comp.......and so on.

1st qualifying run: RT.216, 60ft 1.125, 1/8th 4.74 @ 143, already spinning the tyres, eased off, tried to get back into it again, smoked em again, rolled through with a 7.76 @ 140.58

The 6 second boys were also having alot of trouble so we turned the power down some more from 50 meters out...

2nd qualifying run: RT -.198, 60ft 1.125, 1/8th 4.77 @ 142, 1/4 7.615 @ 166

Due to the rain delays we only had 2 qualifying runs and we'd qualified No1 out of everyone:clap::clap:

The 2nd qual pass felt pretty good and I was happy we'd sort out "the cherry", no other changes were made and a dial in of 7.60 was the go.

1st round of eliminations we had a bye (other guy broke), this was a perfect opertunity to work on my RT and check the 7.60 dial in time.

RT .226, 60ft 1.15, 1/8th 4.797 @ 142.76, 1/4 7.624 @ 170.39 happy as

2nd round still on a 7.60 dial in, other guy dialed in with 8.60 so I had to give him a 1 second head start, RT .133, 60ft 1.150, already starting to catch the other guy by now so easing out.....1/8th 4.926 @ 135.17, passed him at about 300 meters....eased out some more....1/4 7.91 @ 153.40 Margin of victory 0.0885.

Final was up against a well seasoned DYO racer who regularly wins, he's known for his RTs and being able to run within 1/100th to 2/100ths of his dial in every run, the pressure was on, I'd run the right lane all day and he'd run the left, its what we both prefered, I'd beaten him once before at a DYO meet so maybe there was some pressure on him too, we decided the plan was to switch lanes for the final to try and throw him off a bit (I had lane choice due to qualifying No1) The plan worked!! :smokin:

Check this for a close race:

My dial 7.60 in left lane..............His dial 8.47 in right lane
RT .099...................................RT .120
60ft 1.129................................60ft 1.196
330 3.061.................................330 3.470
1/8 4.766 @ 142.19....................1/8 5.390 @ 127.82
1000ft 6.284.............................1000ft 7.063
1/4 7.617 @ 161.96....................1/4 8.496 @ 156.57

Margin of victory 0.0306

Vids comming soon and no, still can't apply anything more than about 17psi of boost from 1/2 track, we have a rear wing being made now which can generate 100's of kgs of downforce, hopefully that will make the car stable/grip enough to add the other 15psi of boost we have up our sleeves.

With very few meetings left this season I dought we'll see the 6 but I'd be happy if we can knock a couple of 10ths off our current best of 7.41 and crack 180mph.

spot on robby, it dont sound like you giving it any off the mark.
Yeah, we were able to run 1.12 60fts with a super gentle launch on 1.2 bar (just about idle away like this run)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI-j2sDkF7U

Then gently go up to 1.5 bar to 1/2 track then back it off to 1.2 bar from there and run 7.60s with ease, you can hear its not even trying or revving high at all.

I'm a little worried as to what it will be like if we ever manage to wind the motor up so it sounds like this:
