I was going to disagree about the sheppey massive statement but you are right, why not have a little section for banter chat, its obviously popular as it is the longest thread
Seriously though, I wouldnt mind paying for the use of the site, I think its the way forward, that way only persons with a serious interest will sign on the site. Its what the Lancer people do and if the funds go towards anything that will make the site better or pay for the costs you incur as host then why not. The Midget wont be happy about paying but hej, he never is about spending a squid
