Well still waiting, called Monday last week there reason for taking this long to get me a price is its hard to value...been three weeks so far on trying to sort a value and 6 weeks since it was stolen

Are you in direct contact with the insurance company or are you liaising through a broker?

Its Admiral, so a big company and dealing direct with them. All been signed off to be paid out just the final stage now with getting the value they seem to be messing about on.

To get this sorted you need to call your insurance company daily as clearly they are not in a rush to hand you over any money. Become a pest, call them every day at different times and get them to give you some attention and get this sorted out.

Going to start doing that this week, getting annoyed now. What annoyed me more is while all this is going on they sent me a letter saying i owed them £60 for some cover i never took and was saying "payment needed in 7days or will be passed to the legal team and a £25 fee added"

Quick phone call soon got that sorted and an apology saying was a mistake the wan*ers, but quick to ask for money and giving me a time limit but they can have three months by law if they like.

An update on the insurance claim will interest me and a few others on the Forum.

If you have encountered snags then please let the Forum know what they are - this is an important part of Forum feedback.

More important than "my latest waste of money on brake pads, UK CF, special wax polish and wonder engine oils".

Due to the rarity its hard to do a market value on these cars. Book value is 26-28k on the R34s. This was my major issue trying to prove the value of my car due to hardly any V-spec II around.

My advice would be agreed value or specialist insurance, admiral may be cheap and friendly but the claim area really let them down. Getting sent from person to person pointless talks and stalling from them

I don't want to discuss what i got paid but after long difficult talks and them checking every bit of my insurance right down to what i ate in the car.

I got paid not far from what i would have sold for. So its a mixed opinion on them but they were not easy to deal with at all.

Another bit of advice, in the insurance eyes modded R34s are worth more than standard, clean low miles. So if you have mods declare them as they will add value.

My insurance was all legit and that wasn't the issue just proving its value without them having a car to assess and the market value currently all over the place.

All sorted now though, do miss my GTR and would love it back still keep an eye out please.

Just read this from the beginning, absolute scum bags who took your car, and I hope everything gets sorted out for you, I had my 3 week old Golf R stolen last year not far from you(Willenhall) car had 300mile on the clock, insurance company paid £24k, car brand new was £30k.

The hardest part of the situation was dealing with the insurance company, It felt like they where interrogating me, I had to go over the story 3 times over the phone to make sure my story was the same every time.

Took 9 months for the insurance company to pay out, I would strongly advise anyone not to ever forget/not declare mods or any info when taking out insurance, I declared everything but it felt if I had forgot anything they where looking for a reason not to pay out!!

To be fair they won't be looking to be done over themselves and I'll imagine quite a few people have tried. In saying that insurance companies boil my oiss at times so I'm not trying to do hem any favours. I agree with the mods thing. Any loophole and they'd throw the claim out.

To the OP. Good luck in finding a replacement. It won't be easy but you'll get there.
