BROOKLANDS RACE CIRCUIT
SATURDAY 19TH JULY 2014
For the second year running we have been invited to attend SUPERCAR STAURDAY at the famous BROOKLANDS Race Circuit - or what's left of it - on Saturday the 19th of July 2014. The same as last year for those that went, its a little different than your usual GTROC LONDON MEET for a number of reasons compared to our usual location of the ACE CAFE LONDON & here is some photos from last year :

The first difference is you have to pay to get in - last year I believe it was its £11.00 a car - with up to four passengers - but I am awaiting confirmation on this years prices. We also have the opportunity to participate in demonstration laps at Mercedes-Benz World for the general public who last year were very happy to see something different from the usual Ferrari / Lambo cars! Last year these laps last year were led by a Ferrari that GRIMBLIN GIBBON spent most of his time catching up on the straight, but were still at a fair pace compared to the normal demonstration laps that many places do! We all had big grins afterwards - trust me!
In the afternoon there is also the opportunity to put your Skyline or GTR up the famous "Hill" at Brooklands as well which I think a handful did last year!
Of course you dont have to do any of these if you just want to turn up and display your Skyline or GTR! We do all need to arrive at the same time to park together as its a very busy morning for the marshals so as per last year we are setting a meeting point in TESCOS car park nearby to the entrance from 08:00am with a prompt departure to just up the road at 08:50am.
The programme for the Saturday :
09.00 Gates open
09.00-11.00 MB World Track signing on
10.00 Museum displays and aircraft open
11.00 MB World Track Drivers' briefing
12.00-13.00 MB World Track demo
13.00 Silver Arrows demo at MB World
14.00 Test Hill Drivers' briefing
14.45-15.30 Test Hill
17.00 Event and Museum closed
For those wishing to do the demo laps it is a requirement of Mercedes-Benz World management that owners of track demonstration cars must present their driving licences - BOTH PARTS, VERY IMPORTANT - at signing on. This will take place for drivers and passengers from 09.00 and drivers (only) also need to attend the track demonstration safety briefing at 11.00. For anyone representing GTROC ... please, Please, PLEASE listen to the briefing ... Last year some large idiot in an AC Cobra wasnt and thanks to him the six laps every group got was reduced to three as he got himself stuck in two foot of water & kitty litter just off the skid pan ... I don't want GTROC ruining it this year for everyone else! Minimum age for passengers on track is 16, but there is no age restriction for Test Hill.
The 02.45pm Test Hill sessions can be participated in by attending another briefing at 02.00pm where wristbands will be issued. While the Test Hill has a steep incline it can easily accommodate special cars to which R35's can take part as long as your not lowered!
The day has supercar car club and classic car displays as well as access to all the displays in the Brooklands Museum as well. Last year we were right on the fence surrounding the main club house, so pays to be early!
So three lists are required, those going & those who wish to partake in the DEMO LAPS. Please only put your name down if your definitely going & lets see those R32's being the 25th Anniversary this year
