Hi guys :wavey:

I know probably not many of you on here buy MAX POWER! but my brother was given the job a couple of months ago to turn max around! And he’s just sent me this months copy and I begrudging I have to say I was very impressed there’s a lot more skyline’s and performance cars in it and less Vauxhall nova looking like its ram raided halfords and everything has just fallen on the car!!:chuckle: He’s tried to focus more on the performance car market and technical know-how.

So if anybody’s seen this months (with black civic tyre-R on front) max. Let me know what you think and I’ve been told it’s slowly going to turn into a proper magazine every month.

Cheers in advance guys

I know what your saying. I stopped buying max when I stopped putting blue noens under my corsa.

BUT there’s going to be no more burberry painted cavaliers and stuff like that. I know if you want to buy jap mags that’s fine, but im just saying it seems to be a lot better then it was!!

i guessing no ones reads it then??

I'll keep a look out for the new revision.

Hopefully there'll be less girlies, don't get me wrong, I love boobies and such like, but if I want to see naked girlies i'll buy a porn mag.
I suppose its as close as a 15-year old will get to buying a legal porn mag.

Fingers-crossed

max power has two big problems

the first is its brand. It may be a chav mag, but it's got world-wide recognition as being the longstanding leader of the modified car general magazine - so anything modified that uk readers might care about. It has, as a side effect, taken on the muppetry side of things but that was to sell magazines more than anything, not to make a name as a magazine who cared about p38 over t78 garretts & standalone management.

the other problem it has is a hugely changing modified scene. for the past 18-24 months the modified scene has moved increasingly towards shrugging off the boy-racer image. two definite styles have arrived and gained popularity throughout europe and the us which have been adopted by those truly interested in cars - a method of differentiating the enthusiast from the prat.
Euro & Jap/Drift styles are massive right now. Serious volumes of money are being spent, literally, worldwide to gain recognition for immerging from the boy-racer image and truly refreshing the face of modifying.

Max power has tried to follow suit.. euro cars are seen at least twice in both fast car and max this month - and if it's not that then you can guarantee it's drift/quarter mile cars - or time attack.

There's masses of movement and if a mag stays fluid enough to match those moves and really meet the grade then it'd make plenty of dollar.

I just hope true, quality modified cars still live on even if the 'trend' changes.

There's plenty to be said for a car that's been modified to be a capable example on that chassis with weel designed, well fitted modifications - even if it's not in fashion it's what motivates me to modify.

I don't want a skyline to drift, i want it as a weekend car, to go as fast as it physically can from a to b using the electronics to distribute that power and keep it where i want it.

I just pray max focuses on these cars as well as the usual (and now boring to anyone who looks at popular forums with any regularity) euro & drift cars.

essay i know, but what's the point in posting if you don't actually voice your opinion

Max Power has been changing for the last few issues, trying to turn it into a more serious magazine etc.

To be honest I prefered reading it before, I've been very unimpressed with it since it started changing, and after reading a feature they done on our car, think it's going down hill. poorly written articles, very little knowledge, don't actuaaly read the articles/details or look at the pictures before they phone you and speak about your car they're featuring!

Whats your brothers name?

well said

just have a look see what you think.

i think max has relied on it's brand and not it's content! but i know my Bro has been working really hard to give it a fresh new look and take it in a different direction!:) hoefully it's the right one:confused:
