Good evening all, here's a challenge for you all. In a bit of a fast and furious style! My friend has a Ferrari F355, he's not that loaded, just works hard, and knows how to drive it!(he won the ACSMC Tarmac rally championship last year in a mk2 Escort, beating some WRC cars!)
Anyway, he's constantly telling me how he could beat my standard(just air filters and exhaust) R33 GTR down Santa Pod, so the other day I did the old "pink slips callenge"(the winner gets the losers car) to him and he accepted, only in the joking stage at the mo, although things are getting serious now and we're discussing dates.:nervous:

So what do you think would win, the Ferrari is quick, but doesn't feel quicker than my car, plus he's never done Santa Pod before and I must of done over 200 goes over the years.:D Should I back out whilst it's all just pub banter at the mo?

Wow dude if that's for real then you better get your car ready . . . .by starting with tires. In the wet or humid the Ferrari is crap against the GTR.
Of course the driver skills will play the major part, but how about cheating up your boost a bit for the event ;) :D

I think you will get your hide kicked with the spec you have stated above! You would need stage 1 to start with, but even with that you will find it hard to beat a rally trained driver imho.

I think with the mods you've got you might get beaten (not by much), but.... If you get a good launch then you might just edge it. Go stage 1 and win yourself a 355 :chuckle:

Get a Decat on your exhaust (he won't know) ;)

That will make it much better... you boost should creep up to about 0.8bar.

Learn to do full throttle launch, and get some small wheel with plenty of sidewall... It will hurt your clutch...but for a Ferrari, it is worth it. :) Oh, Stage1 ECU cheap will be a nice touch also.

Oh, put in race gas mix with V-Power on the day of the race... just to bring the octane up... :)

The car wont be mapped correctly to run this chip properly tho. May cause damage, with the high speeds used on a track?

Hmmmm, rally trained or not, it's only a few tests and licences etc, maybe on the twisty bits though as he did alot better than me in the championship we were in, this is him in his old Mk2(yellow) below, and me in mine(white)he's never done the pod before though, and yeh, he would put his money where his mouth is too, but it'd be hard to judge who'd win until the day. It's soooooo tempting to say yeh, lets have it, and to be honest, I think I'd win due to traction etc, but I don't wanna lose my R33, even though we're mates, if we won, of course we'd take each other's cars!;)

Just put a nice clutch in it and go for it. Nothing like a burning standard clutch on the start line of santa pod to amuse the crowd. Stage 1 mods will run 360 BHP at 0.95 bar all day long on the factory ecu. just dont go over the 180kph limit!!!

Seen Ferraris get well done at Santapod by GTR's ,as said it's all on the launch ,over a half mile though the Ferrari would come through IMO but a 1/4 mile you should win .If it's a mate your up against I really cant see you taking cars off each other ,pub talk:)

Please excuse my ignorance, but is a mate like an acquaintance (sp) or is a mate a friend or a bud? Cause I can honestly say that no matter the kind of crap I talked at the bar I would NEVER take a friends car over something as silly as a race...what happens if one of you has a mechanical issue? Do the rules still stand?

This being said, if this were to occur with an acquaintance (sp) or someone I didnt know and I had the stones to bet my car I would surely keep the car...and expect him to keep mine.

Am I missing something or is this "race for pinks" just shit talk? If it isnt, lets set a date and get it on...this might be something I would hop on a Ryan air flight to witness...:wavey:
