Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. Just got myself an r32 gts-t a few months ago... and so far very happy with it.

however, I have one question.. my temperature meter is above mid-point... and its kinda bugging me.

so I flushed the radiator and changed the coolant but the temp meter has not gone down. my mechanic is worried that there might be a leak in the head gasket coz while flushing the radiator we noticed some bubbles and it was persistant even after we have finished flushing the radiator.

anyway I'm not so sure this is the reason, but anybody out there has had the same experience?

Welcome to gtr.co.uk!

Exactly what does the temp gauge read then?

You will always find that one warmed up, the gauge will sit at the same place... this represents the temperature at which the thermostat opens, and thus regulates the temperature.

*If* your head gasket is gone, you'll notice the following:

1. The temp gauge will quickly hit the max it can display.
2. You'll be blowing loads of white steam out of the exhaust.
3. The coolant level will continually drop.

Thanks for the tip

none of those has happened to my car yet... and I hope it wont...
ok the temp meter shows about 55-65% maximum

some people have told me this is because of the temp sensor that came with the car, and since its a japanese import it does not work well in the malaysianhot weather.. but I'm not sure about this either...

anyway, I'll keep checking the coolant level and we shall see what happens
