Peeps.

Anyone had any experiences of probs with noise on track??
Have got a day booked and the limit is 100db and a bit worried the hyper will go through that!!
Limit is tested at 4500 rpm so am sure it will fail.

Appreciate your repsonses if you know what a 33 de cat with Hyper will be noise wise at 4500 rpm.

Steve A Beuat? Jamie? Henry? Ronnie? Glen??

I doubt it

Especially if you have downpipes as well. I know my Hiper wouldn't pass 100db, or 105 for that matter.

You can get a silencer to put on the end though I beleive.

Idle tests usually pass without problem. It's when under load we usually get black flagged.
At Dono and Bedford, I have to lift off when going past the microphones.

Where are you on track?

on track at Hullavington

and it looks as if tested at 4500 rpm.
also don't want to be black flagged as well.
Will get the muffler bit.

I have a super dragger ( quieter I believe) with no cat and trust front pipes.

I had it measured going into the second Kemble day and got 106 db, at goodwood I had the cat on (just mot'd) and it measured at 94 Db

I have had various other readings at bedford as they don't watch the rev counter you can get away with only revving to 3 or so. but there is the mic on the track.

you may want to get tested beforehand as I seem to remember people still getting kicked off at bedford with the little insert muffler that goes inside.

if it is still loud stick the cat on. The main difference I noticed with the cat on was noise, performance wasn't affected much if at all. But then you are higher tuned than I and the restriction may show more if you are running more than 1 bar.

have fun.

Ps. I saw that plate on sale at the DVLA website, nice...

cheers big man

and I thought as much. the muffler kit is like 30 pounds so not big outlay and an investment.

BTW there are still as few others on the web for sale...Up for grabs is N15MOD...

go get away...

I was...

Tested at 6000 RPM last Monday at Goodwood for a 105 DB day, I made 105 on the button with a HKS dual dragger which is a lot quieter than the single bored big brother Hiper. If you haven't got the baffle then you aint on track.

My Hyper was okay at kemble measuring a 102Db
with down pipes and no CAT.

Mind you I find a hugh differece in readings.
Concidering every 3Db increase is effectivly doubling the
noise I can't see how they can be so far out.

I could guess closser than some of these machines.

At a comparison, when I got 102, a 3litre O.S.Gieken car
got 110Db, and it was loud. You could feel it in you chest!
