If you are going to use it as a family car, forget it in my opinion. The seats at the back are useless unless you and the wife are dwarfs. Definitely try before you buy.
If you want a quick family car, you should consider an M5 (great cars) or an Rs6 (great family car, fast in all weathers, but not a drivers' car). Or their smaller siblings the m3/rs4.
