Was in a long drive last week and my feet were absolutely sweating due to the ambient temperature (was Tuesday when it went up to 31). Popped my shoes an socks off to drive barefoot and noticed that the metal elements of the foot rest where like a hit radiator. Just above the temp where I could leave it there but not so hot it burned them instantly.
The transmission tunnel does get hot and so can the firewall between the engine bay & cabin. As the foot rest is next to both, I wouldn't be too worried about it tbh
The whole car gets red hot, even hotter in the back, like a Turkish bath house!! Engine in the front, Transmission tunnel running through the car and then the gearbox in the boot........ there is no escape LOL
