Yep, Targa Tasmania in Australia, 2001.

They showed the car the day before on the news here in NZ, had the camera sitting at a corner watching a relatively quick MX5 take the corner and this white streak rips past it like it was sitting still. Next day, they decided to park up a tree.

Day three, two major crashes. **** Doohan, and the GTR.

Doohan's crash was one of two major incidents on the third leg of the rally. The other involved NSW pair Gary Burchett and navigator Ron Markland in a Nissan Skyline, who slammed into a tree at high speed in the Deloraine stage over 6.99km.

Burchett, a 46-year-old company director from South Windsor, was rushed to Launceston General Hospital by ambulance and was admitted in a serious, but stable condition. He later had X-rays and underwent corrective surgery for an ankle injury.

i believe the same driver also competed again in the 2002 rally, but in a freshly rebuilt red 32 gtr (a second justjap car), and crashed again! ... but not quite as spectacularly...

well if you want to see a messed up skyline look at the one i'm getting WARNING it may have side affects if you watch such a graphic picture like this one just a precaution people. Also i plan on getting a nismo front bumber ,lexan front window and nismo n1 carbon diffuser and maybe even some nismo rim's not sure though i mean the stock rim's to me are beautiful.
