Greetings everyone, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place--I read forums often but I never created an account until today.

So, this might be a simple question for some of you.. I have a '91 Skyline GT-R, which will crank up, and immediately stall. It is possible to start the car and drive it, if I unplug the MAFs (limp mode).

I have a stock ECU, which will flash out error code 12 (bad MAF) on the dash. I replaced said MAFs with new parts, only to have the issue persist.

Ideas?

btw I'm a rookie, and this is the first car I've ever worked on.

could be a boost leak, you checked the boost pipes are all good and tight?

I did a basic once over, checked the IC pipes and whatnot. One thing that confuses me, is that the issue only occurs with the MAFs plugged in. Wouldn't a boost leak have the same effect whether the MAFs were plugged in or not? Just trying to learn what might be going on here
